How to Play

Welcome, Courier. Grab your satchel, set your clocks, and let's bend time responsibly.

Objective

Deliver as many packages as possible before the session timer runs out. Each correct delivery advances your Workday Clock toward 5:00 PM. When you misdeliver, the clock slowly ticks backwards, undoing progress.

No overtime when you're a time traveler. Once the day ends, it ends.

Gameplay Loop

  1. Pick up packages in Base HQ.
  2. Check inventory (Z) and decode clues.
  3. Travel via portals:
    • Ancient Past
    • Modern Present 2025
    • Sci-Fi Future 2157
    • Base HQ
  4. Find recipients with the compass.
  5. Deliver near NPCs (E). Correct advances the clock. Wrong rewinds it in real time.

HUD

  • Top left: Timeline
  • Top right: Workday Clock, 8:00 to 5:00
  • Bottom left: Packages delivered
  • Bottom right: Session timer

Compass

  • Blue arrows - portals
  • Purple arrow - NPC, recipient
  • Yellow arrow - regular package
  • Green arrow - bonus package

Bonus Packages

Green packages are optional, high-value deliveries. They pay out extra score and still push your Workday Clock forward like any correct delivery.

  • Score boost. Higher points than regular packages.
  • Recovery play. If you lost time to a misdelivery, stack a bonus package to claw back momentum while advancing the clock.
  • Smart routing. Take them when they lie on your path to the purple arrow. Skip them when the timer is low.

  • Gamepad optional, keyboard fully supported

Accessibility

  • Readable fonts, high contrast UI
  • Color legend listed above, compass uses shape and position cues along with color
  • No audio cues required for core play
  • Photosensitivity friendly, no rapid full-screen flashes

Known Issues

  • Gamepads may need a button press to initialize in some browsers
  • Alt-tab can pause input in older systems, tap the window to re-focus
